For those of you that follow AK2NY on Facebook and Twitter, the time has finally come. I have been building you up for a big announcement, and this is it!
Can I get a drum roll?!
AK2NY is now Sarah’s Laundry!
AK2NY was a good start and has steered my life & career in a new (& incredible) direction. The problem with AK2NY? I quickly realized that if y blog were to be taken seriously, I needed to reach out beyond the 330 radius. This doesn’t mean that Sarah’s Laundry isn’t about Akron, because it absolutely is, but the launch of this new site will cater to the people of any town around Akron’s size, not just Akron. Many people love AK2NY because it is the translation between big city fashion and realistically wearing these trends in cities and towns that are further from metropolitan areas. Out of those many people that love AK2NY, about 80% of them are not from Akron. All in all, this will still be the same blog with a different name.
The differences between AK2NY and the new Sarah’s Laundry is more variety. AK2NY had a Photography tab, but Sarah’s Laundry will have more. There will be a music tab that features artists with new music coming out or artists that come to the Akron/Cleveland area, as well as a tab named “Sarah”, which will feature anything from cooking to home decor to cows jumping over the moon. Even though these features are new, Fashion will absolutely be the main focus of this blog and will still be 90% of the material presented at Sarah’s Laundry.
The best part about Sarah’s Laundry? You can now SHOP Sarah’s Laundry! Northeast Ohio is known for having some of the best Thrift and Vintage stores in the country – stylists from New York City will come to Akron & Cleveland to dig into these shops. These stores are at my fingertips and I will look for unique and trendy ‘vintage’ pieces to sell to you for prices cheaper than your H&M and Forever21.
This is the next step to something bigger.
